Bud Light and Alcohol Content

Bud Light is America’s top selling beer – more Bud Lights were sold than Coors Light and Budweiser combined!

Yet what is fascinating about these statistics is that Bud Light is one of the lightest alcohol content beers in the market with a 4.2% ABV.

What does it mean?

It means a person could drink more Bud Lights than most craft beers before going over the limit.

How many Bud Lights can you drink? Try this BAC Calculator.

A BAC Calculator can provide an estimate BAC (blood alcohol content) percentage based on a number of critical factors such as age, height, weight, gender, time, tolerance and alcohol by volume percentages.

Here is an example of the difference between Bud Light and Three Floyds Alpha King alcohol content.

There is a big difference between a beer that has a 4.2% ABV vs 6.6% ABV.

Why do you need to understand BAC percentages?

BAC percentages are the metric used to understand blood alcohol content and how it relates to you.

It is illegal to drive at or above a BAC of .08%. (Note: a person can still get a DUI at .04%).By learning and understanding your BAC percentages for each drink consumed, drinkers are able to understand and appreciate their drinking levels.Right now, most people have no idea what their blood alcohol content is and when they are over the limit. At the time of writing, our internal survey showed that 45% of drinkers have no idea how much they can consume until they are over the limit. 40% had an idea while 15% said they knew for sure.

If a drinker consistently consumes the same drink, a BAC Calculator can provide a guideline relative to how many drinks until he/she is over the limit. This information is highly valuable for those who find themselves drinking and driving.

Most of us have an idea, but are often “overly optimistic”. We think we can drink more than what the law allows.  By using a BAC Calculator, one can educate and make better informed decisions moving forward.
